I use EMDR with individuals to resolve past hurts, shift outdated patterns and move forward with more wisdom, confidence, resourcefulness and resilience.
In my couples counseling, I use a customized and integrated approach which includes the Gottman Method, Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Stan Tatkin’s Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (P.A.C.T.). This approach is highly successful in repairing and strengthening committed relationships. People who work with me report less chaos and conflict and more peace and joy in their partnerships and families as a result.
At the core of my philosophy is the belief that we all carry stories that can benefit from some editing and rewriting so we can embrace life and relationships with love and zest!
I have been a practicing clinician since 2007 and have worked in multiple contexts including inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, nonprofit counseling organizations, rehabilitative communities and private practice. I am also a counselor educator and supervisor, having facilitated numerous professional workshops in play therapy and presented at professional conferences.
Additionally, I’m a parenting educator and coach. My 15 years as a play therapist for children and families prepared me for my role as a parent coach, in which I teach parents to utilize play therapy principles and practices at home to strengthen parent-child relationships and enjoy a more optimally functioning family system.
